AOCOED National Alumni Association Visits LASUED, Donates Items to Support University Activities

On Friday, 12 December 2025, the Management of Lagos State University of Education (LASUED), led by Vice-Chancellor Professor Bidemi Bilkis Lafiaji-Okuneye, received representatives of the Adeniran Ogunsanya College of Education (AOCOED) National Alumni Association on a courtesy visit.

On Friday, 12 December 2025, the Management of Lagos State University of Education (LASUED), led by Vice-Chancellor Professor Bidemi Bilkis Lafiaji-Okuneye, received representatives of the Adeniran Ogunsanya College of Education (AOCOED) National Alumni Association on a courtesy visit.

During the meeting, held at the Vice-Chancellor’s office, Professor Lafiaji-Okuneye commended the alumni for their thoughtful gesture in supporting the University through the donation of both educational and non-educational items. She highlighted that such acts of generosity strengthen collaboration and foster synergy between the University Management and the alumni of its legacy institution.

The Vice-Chancellor further emphasized that while LASUED may not be the direct alma mater of the alumni, its legacy institution, AOCOED, played a significant role in shaping their academic and professional journeys. She expressed optimism that the cordial relationship between LASUED Management and the AOCOED National Alumni Association would continue to flourish.

Speaking during the visit, Dr. Akintolure Oluwashina, National President of the AOCOED Alumni Association, explained that the visit aimed to give back to their alma mater, now evolved into LASUED, and to demonstrate the alumni’s support for the University Management and its vision.

Also present, Registrar Mr. Akinfemiwa Opeoluwa Akinlabi, Bursar Mr. Ganiu Ajose Adeniyi, and Deputy Registrar, Vice-Chancellor’s Office, Mrs. Sami Omolara, lauded the alumni for the donation, describing it as a foundation for a mutually beneficial relationship between the University and the alumni body of its legacy college.

Items donated by the alumni include:

  • Ten laptops
  • Two Public Address Systems (PAS)
  • Twelve plastic chairs
  • 5,000 pieces of customized nylon for dispensing drugs at the University Health Centre

It is recalled that Adeniran Ogunsanya College of Education (AOCOED), Oto/Ijanikin, along with Michael Otedola College of Primary Education (MOCPED), Epe, was transmuted by the Lagos State Government into Lagos State University of Education (LASUED) on 2 February 2022.
