The Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP), Kano State Polytechnic Chapter, hosted a landmark Retirees’ Day Ceremony on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, to celebrate the transition of 18 academic staff members into retirement.

The event, organized through the ASUP Endowment Fund, was designed to recognize years of dedicated service and provide tangible welfare support to the outgoing personnel.

The Kano State Head of Service, Alh. Abdullahi Musa, who attended as a guest of honor, praised ASUP for establishing the endowment fund. He described the initiative as a "compassionate gesture" that ensures members are supported even after their active service years.

“I encourage our retirees to remain productive and continue to offer their wealth of experience to society,” Alh. Musa stated. He also commended the Kano State Polytechnic management for fostering a harmonious relationship with labor unions, noting that such stability is vital for institutional progress.
