Bauchi Government Launches Training Program to Enhance Education Sector

The Bauchi State government has launched a 3-day capacity training program for 30 selected educators aimed at enhancing teaching quality across the state. The training, held at the Smart School Conference Hall, is a collaboration between the Girls Education Mission International, the Bauchi State Ministry of Education, and the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), with funding from the TY Danjuma Foundation.

Dr. Jamila Dahiru, the State Commissioner of Education, represented by Permanent Secretary Babayo Gamawa, stated that the selected participants will train others, aiming to reach 5000 teachers statewide. This initiative is part of the government's efforts to improve the teaching and learning environment in Bauchi.

The SUBEB Chairman, Adamu Mohammed Duguri, praised the initiative for its potential to significantly enhance the education sector. Keturah Shammah, Executive Director of Girls Education Mission International, emphasized the project's focus on lifelong learning and its importance given Bauchi's high number of out-of-school children.

Participants expressed their commitment to applying the new skills acquired during the training to benefit their schools.
