The Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), Prof. Babatunde Kehinde, graced the 9th edition of the Agrofood and Plastprintpack Nigeria Trade Show on March 26, 2024, underscoring the university's dedication to fostering partnerships and advancements in agribusiness and post-harvest activities.

Hosted by the Organisation for the Technology Advancement of Cold Chain in West Africa (OTACCWA) at the Landmark Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos, the event drew notable dignitaries including former Nigerian President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, and representatives from various ministries and diplomatic missions.
In his address at the Opening Ceremony, Prof. Kehinde reiterated FUNAAB's commitment to Teaching, Research, and Extension Services, highlighting the institution's eagerness for collaborations, especially in the agricultural sector. He emphasized the university's fruitful partnership with Germany, as evidenced by a recent visit from the German Consul General, Mr. Weert Borner.
Accompanied by key figures from FUNAAB including Prof. Olufemi Ojo, Director of the Veterinary Teaching Hospital (VTH), and German Consulate Desk Officer for FUNAAB, Prof. Kehinde engaged in discussions with stakeholders to explore potential collaborations and advancements in cold chain technology and food security.
During the sidelines of the 6th West Africa Cold Chain Summit & Exhibition (WACCSE), Prof. Kehinde held discussions with OTACCWA President, Mr. Alexander Isong, exploring avenues for curriculum development to integrate Cold Chain as a discipline at the Postgraduate level.
The event, hosting over 140 exhibitors from 15 countries, serves as a significant platform for showcasing tailored products and solutions for the Nigerian market, spanning agriculture, livestock breeding, food technology, beverages, and packaging.
With the Agrofood Fair serving as a pivotal hub for business networking and collaboration, the participation of FUNAAB's Vice-Chancellor underscores the university's proactive approach towards fostering partnerships and advancements in the agricultural sector.
