Admiralty University Hosts TechHer Programme to Promote Online Trust and Digital Safety
Admiralty University of Nigeria (ADUN) hosted the TechHer Coffee and Circumvention Programme on June 30, 2026, as part of efforts to promote digital literacy, online trust and internet safety among students.

The programme, organised by TechHer for Women in Technology, was themed "Reimagining Trust and Safety Online" and brought together students to learn about responsible digital engagement and online security.
Ahead of the event, members of the TechHer delegation paid a courtesy visit to the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Christopher Bankole Ndubisi Ogbogbo. The delegation included the Digital Literacy Lead, Ugochi Ihe; Communications Lead, Jemimah Michael Inyangudo; and Adhoc Coordinator, Abigail Chinedu Bassey.
During the visit, the Vice-Chancellor commended the organisation for its commitment to promoting digital literacy and online safety, stressing that creating a safer internet requires the collective efforts of all stakeholders.
The programme was held at the Vice Admiral Dele Ezeoba Multipurpose Hall, where students participated in discussions on responsible use of digital technologies.
In his opening remarks, the Registrar, Captain A. T. Abdullahi, who was represented by the Principal Assistant Registrar (Academic), Mr. Johnson Oluwasegun, encouraged students to embrace technology responsibly and make digital safety a priority.
The Dean of Student Affairs, Engr. Dr. Chinedu Chiejine, was represented at the event by his secretary, Mr. Isaac Amaga.

Speaking during the programme, Communications Lead, Jemimah Michael Inyangudo, explained the objectives of the initiative and emphasised the importance of equipping young people with the knowledge needed to navigate the digital space safely and responsibly.
The keynote presentation was delivered by the Digital Literacy Lead, Ugochi Ihe, who educated participants on online safety, digital security, cyber awareness and the importance of identifying and reporting harmful online activities.
The event also featured an interactive question-and-answer session, giving participants practical guidance on protecting themselves while using digital platforms.

According to the university, the programme reflects ADUN's commitment to promoting digital literacy and equipping students with the knowledge and skills required to thrive safely in an increasingly connected world.
