ADUN Lays Foundation for Central Mosque, Reaffirms Commitment to Academic and Religious Development

The Admiralty University of Nigeria (ADUN) has reaffirmed its commitment to promoting both academic excellence and religious development within the university community.

The Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. Christopher Ogbogbo, stated this during the foundation-laying ceremony for the institution’s Central Mosque at its permanent site in Ibusa, Delta State.

Prof. Ogbogbo said the university remained committed to producing graduates who are sound in character and learning, noting that religion plays an important role in shaping students’ character and promoting moral values within the university community.

He encouraged the leadership of the Muslim community to construct a befitting mosque that would adequately serve members of the university community.

According to him, the mosque would also provide a suitable place of worship for friends and visitors from outside the university campus.

The Vice-Chancellor expressed appreciation to the Muslim community for inviting him to perform the foundation-laying ceremony and assured the community of the university’s continued support for religious organisations and activities within the institution.

Prof. Ogbogbo also pledged to visit the project periodically to monitor its progress and seek clarification on any issues that might arise during its construction.

Speaking on behalf of the Muslim community, Dr. Musa Saheed expressed appreciation to the university management for its support.

Dr. Saheed commended the Vice-Chancellor for his remarkable achievements since assuming office at the institution.

He also thanked Almighty Allah for His benevolence, guidance and continued blessings upon the university community.
