Bayero University, Kano has announced a vacancy for the position of Vice-Chancellor, which will become vacant on August 19, 2025.
The university's Governing Council invites applications from distinguished scholars with extensive experience in university teaching and administration.
Applicants must possess a PhD from a recognized university, hold the rank of Professor for at least five years, and have a distinguished academic record with significant contributions to research and scholarship. The ideal candidate should demonstrate proven experience in managing human and material resources, strong leadership skills, and impeccable integrity.
The Vice-Chancellor is the Chief Executive and Academic Officer of the University, responsible for providing strategic leadership and vision, advising the Governing Council, and overseeing the efficient management of the University.
Applications should be submitted in 25 copies, accompanied by 25 copies of the current Curriculum Vitae, and include names and addresses of three referees. A statement detailing the candidate's vision and mission for the University should also be provided.
Applications must reach the Registrar no later than six weeks from the date of this advertisement. The Vice-Chancellor shall serve a single term of five years, with remuneration and conditions of service as applicable in Nigerian Federal Universities.
