Bayero University Kano Disburses N6.2 Million in Incentives to High-Impact Researchers

In fulfillment of its commitment to fostering research excellence and global visibility, Bayero University Kano (BUK) has disbursed a total of Six Million Two Hundred Thousand Naira (N6,200,000.00) as incentives to thirty-six (36) academic staff members.

The incentives were awarded to authors whose scholarly articles qualified under the University's High-Impact Journal Publication Incentive Scheme during the third quarter of 2025.

The initiative is central to the Vice-Chancellor's resolve to encourage quality research, international collaboration, and increased citation impact. The beneficiaries published their work in reputable international journals ranked within Quartiles Q1 to Q4, aligning with BUK’s broader strategic vision of positioning itself as a leading hub of knowledge generation.

The disbursement was executed based on the journal's ranking and impact factor, demonstrating a strong performance in top-tier publications, with Q1 articles accounting for nearly half of the total incentive pool:
