Bayero University Kano Releases Revised 2023/2024 Academic Calendar

Bayero University Kano (BUK) has released a revised academic calendar for the 2023/2024 undergraduate programs. The revised calendar was approved by the University Senate at its 416th meeting held on August 28, 2024.

According to the revised calendar, the first semester will commence on July 15, 2024, and end on October 19, 2024, with a one-week mid-semester break scheduled for August 26-31, 2024. The first semester examinations will take place from October 21 to November 16, 2024, followed by a one-week semester break.

The second semester will begin on November 25, 2024, and end on February 22, 2025, with a one-week mid-semester break scheduled for December 6-11, 2024. The second semester examinations will take place from February 24 to March 22, 2025.

Additionally, the University Senate approved several other decisions, including:

- The migration of the Department of Economics from the Faculty of Social Sciences to the Faculty of Management Sciences.

- The migration of the Department of Library & Information Sciences from the Faculty of Education to the Faculty of Social Sciences.

- The renaming of the Faculty of Management Sciences to Faculty of Economics and Management Sciences.

The revised calendar and approved decisions are aimed at enhancing the academic experience and aligning the University's programs with global best practices.
