Bayero University, Kano (BUK), has announced the hosting of a Special Lecture on Examination Matters alongside the inauguration of newly elected Students’ Union Government (SUG) executives.

The event, organised by the Deanery of Students Affairs in collaboration with the Caretaker Committee, is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, by 2:00 p.m. at the Convocation Arena, BUK New Campus. The programme is open to students, members of the University community, and the general public.

According to the University, the special lecture is designed to promote academic integrity, ethical conduct, and sustainable academic excellence among students. It will feature three expert presentations addressing examination practices and misconduct.

The first lecture, titled “Beyond Cramming and Cheating: Time Allocation Strategies for Sustainable Academic Excellence in the University,” will be delivered by Dr. Idris Salisu Rogo. The second presentation, “Examinations: Right Conduct, Wrong Choices and Their Consequences,” will be presented by the Director of Academic Planning, Professor Yusuf Garba. The third lecture, “Implications of Examination Misconduct,” will be handled by Professor Maikano Madaki.

Students have been strongly encouraged to attend the programme punctually, as it forms part of the University’s efforts to strengthen discipline, integrity, and academic standards. To facilitate participation, transportation arrangements have been made to convey students from the Old Campus, Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital (AKTH), and the School of Continuing Education (SCE) to the New Campus venue.

The programme will also formally mark the inauguration of the newly elected SUG executives, signalling the commencement of their tenure.
