FULafia Appoints Prof. Salihu as Dean, Approves New Acting Heads of Department
The Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Lafia (FULafia), Prof. Shehu Abdul Rahman, has approved new academic appointments aimed at strengthening the University’s administrative and academic leadership.
The Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Lafia (FULafia), Prof. Shehu Abdul Rahman, has approved new academic appointments aimed at strengthening the University’s administrative and academic leadership.
According to a statement issued by the University Registrar, Dr. Nuradeen Abdu, Prof. M. D. Salihu of the Department of Veterinary Medicine, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, has been appointed Dean of the Faculty. His appointment takes effect from February 12, 2026, and is for a tenure of two years.
In addition to the dean’s appointment, the Vice-Chancellor has approved the appointment of Dr. Dogo Bitrus Ajeye of the Department of Geography, Faculty of Environmental Design, as Acting Head of the Department of Quantity Surveying for a period of one year.
Similarly, Dr. Abejide Lewis Emmanuel Olumuyiwa, also of the Department of Geography, has been appointed Acting Head of the Department of Urban and Regional Planning for a one-year term, with immediate effect.
The statement noted that the appointments are part of ongoing efforts by the University Management to reinforce its administrative and academic structures and to enhance effective service delivery across the institution.
