BUK CDA Organizes 3rd Open Day, Launches AgriHacking Competition 2.0
The Centre for Dryland Agriculture (CDA) at Bayero University, Kano, held its 3rd Open Day on May 30, 2024, featuring an exhibition and awards presentation.
The event aimed to foster interaction between researchers and partners, promoting networking and collaboration.

According to Prof. Jibrin Mohammed Jibrin, Director of CDA, the centre was established in 2012 to enhance livelihood resilience and sustainable use of natural resources in African drylands through research and training. CDA has supported 22 adopted communities with improved seeds to address climate change and other challenges. The centre trains community seed producers and links them with seed companies to enhance their income.

The Vice Chancellor of Bayero University, Kano, Prof. Sagir Adamu Abbas, urged students, youth, and women to showcase their talents and commitment to making a difference in agriculture. He emphasized the importance of cultivating solutions to address the challenges in dryland regions.

The event also marked the launch of AgriHacking Competition 2.0, aimed at promoting innovation and entrepreneurship in agriculture.
