The Bayero University, Kano Students’ Union Government (SUG) has issued an advisory to all newly admitted students, emphasizing the importance of confirming that the course offered to them by the university aligns with what is displayed on their JAMB CAPS portal.
In a statement from the Office of the Secretary General, the Union warned that any discrepancies between the course on the BUK portal and JAMB CAPS could lead to serious complications, including screening issues, NYSC mobilization problems, clearance challenges, and potential admission irregularities.
Students whose courses were altered by the university—admitted into programmes different from their initial choice—are specifically instructed to visit the nearest accredited CBT centre immediately to process a Change of Course on JAMB CAPS. This ensures their admission accurately reflects the programme offered by the institution.

The SUG emphasized that compliance is crucial to avoid future academic and administrative hurdles and urged all freshers to act promptly and share the information with fellow newly admitted students.
