The Akwa Ibom State University (AKSU) has been given a full licence by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to commence the operation of AKSU Microfinance Bank (AKSU MFB).

The Akwa Ibom State University (AKSU) has been given a full licence by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to commence the operation of AKSU Microfinance Bank (AKSU MFB).

This was made known by the Vice Chancellor, Prof Nse Essien, during the 99th regular Senate meeting of the university.

According to Prof Essien, the Microfinance Bank will start operation next month, July 2024 at the Main Campus, Ikot Akpaden, Mkpat Enin Local Government Area and Obio Akpa Campus, Oruk Anam LGA.

He further emphasised  that the bank is to provide quality banking services to the University and its host communities. He encouraged staff to  patronise the bank fully.
