Chief Babajide Olatunde-Agbeja, Chairman of Boff Insurance Brokers Ltd, has donated and commissioned a YAG Laser Machine to the Ophthalmology Department of University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan.

Chief Babajide Olatunde-Agbeja, Chairman of Boff Insurance Brokers Ltd, has donated and commissioned a YAG Laser Machine to the Ophthalmology Department of University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan.

The commissioning took place on 13 January 2026 at the hospital’s Eye Clinic.

Professor Tunji Oluleye, Head of the Ophthalmology Department, stated that the donation forms part of ongoing efforts to strengthen healthcare delivery, enhancing the diagnostic and treatment capabilities of the Eye Clinic.

The newly commissioned YAG Laser Machine is primarily used for surgical treatment of glaucoma and cataract, and is expected to enable clinicians to provide more efficient, accurate, and accessible eye care to patients.

The Chief Medical Director, Professor Jesse Abiodun Otegbayo, expressed gratitude to Chief Agbeja for his continued support, noting that in 2025 he had donated a 10KVA solar inverter to the Eye Clinic. Professor Otegbayo emphasized that the new equipment will significantly improve the clinic’s surgical capacity, reducing the treatment burden for patients and advancing UCH’s Eye Health Initiative.
