FUTA Muslim Community Honors Retiring Head of Parks and Gardens, Alhaji Ali

The Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA) Muslim Community organized a special send-off ceremony for Alhaji Ahmed Ali, former Head of Parks and Gardens, in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the beautification of the University and his commitment to community development.

The Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA) Muslim Community organized a special send-off ceremony for Alhaji Ahmed Ali, former Head of Parks and Gardens, in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the beautification of the University and his commitment to community development.

The event was held on Friday, 9 January 2026, at the FUTA Central Mosque.

Speaking at the ceremony, Professor Isiaka Amoo, Chairman of the FUTA Muslim Community, praised Alhaji Ali for a career marked by dedication, professionalism, and service excellence. He highlighted Ali’s integrity, discipline, and ability to foster cooperation both within the University and the broader community. Professor Amoo emphasized that retirement, according to academic and Islamic traditions, is not an end but a transition, offering opportunities for continued engagement and reflection.

The Imam of FUTA Central Mosque, Dr. Musa Idris, lauded Alhaji Ali’s career as a testament to sincere and diligent service, praying for Allah’s blessings, good health, peace, and fulfillment in his retirement.

In his response, Alhaji Ali expressed gratitude to the Muslim community for the honor and encouraged colleagues still in service to remain committed to the growth and progress of FUTA.

The ceremony also recognized Engr. Isiaka Fatai, a retired technologist from the Department of Mining Engineering, for his hard work, discipline, and dedication. The Muslim leadership commended his contributions, highlighting his enduring impact both within and beyond the University.
