The School of Environmental Technology (SET) at the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA) began the year 2026 with a thanksgiving service, celebrating God’s blessings in 2025 and seeking guidance for continued success in the new year.

At the event, Pastor Solomon Adejube, Zonal Pastor of RCCG Victory Sanctuary, Akure, encouraged staff and students to trust in God for their aspirations, emphasizing that with faith, all things are possible. He urged attendees to focus on gratitude for their current positions rather than dwell on challenges and highlighted Biblical examples, including Abraham and David, to illustrate God’s power to bless beyond expectation. He stressed that committing one’s life to Christ is essential to receiving divine promises.

Professor Joseph Basorun, Dean of SET, attributed the School’s past achievements and the gift of life to God’s mercy, urging staff and students to strengthen their spiritual commitment in 2026. He commended Vice-Chancellor Professor Adenike Oladiji and her team for elevating FUTA’s national and global standing and prayed for wisdom to guide the University further.

Pastor Oladipo led prayers for the School, its staff, and Dean, asking for divine favor and strength to achieve new milestones.
