The Council for Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) has praised the University of Delta, Agbor (UNIDEL) for actively engaging students in solving complex engineering challenges and providing state-of-the-art equipment to support practical teaching and learning.

The commendation was delivered by the Council’s team lead, Engr. Dr. Felicia Agubata, during an exit briefing following a resource verification exercise in UNIDEL’s Faculty of Engineering. Dr. Agubata expressed gratitude to the Vice-Chancellor and University Management for their warm reception and hospitality. She highlighted the eco-friendly learning environment, well-equipped workshops, laboratories, and lecture theatres, as well as meticulous documentation of staff and student records.
Dr. Agubata recommended the establishment of a sustainable system to preserve and continually enhance the Faculty’s strengths. The COREN team inspected laboratories, workshops, lecture theatres, classrooms, the library, engineering drawing studio, student hostels, recreational facilities, and the medical center, while engaging extensively with academic, administrative, and technical staff, as well as students.

She reiterated that the verification of engineering programmes is a core mandate of COREN, aimed at partnership, quality enhancement, and supporting institutional excellence, rather than fault-finding.
The University received the COREN team with the Vice-Chancellor, Principal Officers, Dean of Faculty of Engineering, Director of Academic Planning, and Heads of Departments in attendance.
