CUSTECH Librarian Leads Working Visit to Federal University Lokoja to Strengthen Innovation-Driven Library Services

The University Librarian of the Confluence University of Science and Technology, CUSTECH, Osara, Mrs Helen Osebequen Chris-Israel, CLN, has led a team of library professionals on a two-day working visit to the Federal University Lokoja, FUL, to understudy modern library facilities and technological innovations.

The visit was aimed at knowledge exchange, institutional learning and professional collaboration to strengthen library operations at CUSTECH.

The CUSTECH team examined the facilities, service models and technological innovations deployed by the Federal University Lokoja Library during the engagement.

Receiving the delegation, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academics of Federal University Lokoja, Professor S.D. Musa, commended the pace of development at CUSTECH. He described the growth of the young university as impressive.

Professor Musa disclosed that FUL had recently visited CUSTECH Osara to understudy the university's security architecture. He added that FUL had commenced the process of modelling aspects of its campus security system after CUSTECH's approach in order to strengthen safety across the FUL campus.

The University Librarian of Federal University Lokoja, Professor Sarah Dauda Yani, congratulated CUSTECH on the successful completion of its new University Library. She described the edifice and its state-of-the-art facilities as a significant milestone for the young institution.

Professor Yani assured the CUSTECH Library team of FUL's continued willingness to support and assist the university as it develops its library system and services.

In her remarks, Mrs Chris-Israel appreciated the management and Library team of Federal University Lokoja for granting CUSTECH the opportunity to learn from an institution with years of experience in university library administration and development.

She noted that the knowledge acquired during the visit would be applied at the CUSTECH Library to enhance service delivery, improve user experience and position the library to effectively support teaching, learning and research.

Mrs Chris-Israel expressed appreciation to the FUL Library management and staff for their warm reception, openness and willingness to share professional knowledge.

She was accompanied on the visit by Dr. Abdulazeez Anakobe Sadiq, Monica Orahachi Ohiani, Momojimoh Khalimat Oyiza and Alaba David Orimidu, all of the CUSTECH University Library.
