Dr. Yinka Joel Ayefele Visits UCH, Donates ₦5 Million and Pledges Ward Upgrade

Dr. Yinka Joel Ayefele, MON, Founder of Fresh FM, paid a courtesy visit to the University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan, on Tuesday, 28th October 2025, as part of activities marking the 10th anniversary of his radio station.

Dr. Yinka Joel Ayefele, MON, Founder of Fresh FM, paid a courtesy visit to the University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan, on Tuesday, 28th October 2025, as part of activities marking the 10th anniversary of his radio station.

During the visit at the hospital’s boardroom, Dr. Ayefele presented a donation of ₦5 million to support the hospital’s day-to-day operations. He also pledged to transform the North West 1 ward into a state-of-the-art facility.

Reflecting on his personal experience as a patient at UCH, particularly during his admission in North West 1, Dr. Ayefele described the period as challenging. He expressed gratitude to God and the medical team for their care, which he credited as pivotal to his recovery.

“I kept up the faith and remained positively hopeful despite everything happening around. Everyone should think positively no matter how hard the situation is. I determined to think positively. I thank God I made it out of UCH alive, though I am on a wheelchair, I am still hopeful that I will walk again,” he stated.

In response, UCH Chief Medical Director, Professor Jesse Abiodun Otegbayo, commended Dr. Ayefele for his generosity and for embracing the hospital’s administration’s guiding principle of Patient Comfort and Staff Welfare.

“It is heartwarming to see Dr. Yinka Joel Ayefele MON come back, not only to celebrate a milestone but also to give back to UCH. This gesture is a testament to his humility and appreciation,” Professor Otegbayo remarked.
