DSS Yamaltu-Deba Formation Pays Courtesy Visit to Acting Provost of Federal College of Horticulture, Dadin-Kowa
The Department of State Services (DSS), Yamaltu-Deba Formation, led by the Local Government Chief, Mr. Maina Pogu, paid a courtesy visit to the Acting Provost of the Federal College of Horticulture, Dadin-Kowa, Dr. Umar A. Umar, in his office today.
Mr. Pogu explained that the visit was primarily for familiarization with the college management, following his recent posting as the DSS Local Government Chief for Yamaltu-Deba. He noted that the visit was also aimed at establishing a cordial working relationship between the DSS and the institution.
During the visit, Mr. Pogu advised the college management to remain conscious of their environment, stressing that security is everybody’s responsibility. He urged the management and staff to promptly report any suspicious movement around the college premises to security agencies. He further emphasized the need for vigilance and encouraged the institution not to hesitate in informing security personnel whenever necessary to ensure adequate safety and security within the campus.
In his remarks, the Deputy Provost, Dr. Ibrahim Isiaka, assured the DSS team that the college management would work closely with security agencies to maintain a smooth and effective working relationship.
Also speaking, the College Registrar, Malam Mohammed Gidado, stated that since the establishment of the college, security personnel have always been involved in its activities. He explained that during major college gatherings such as matriculation ceremonies and trainings, security agencies are always invited and treated with due respect.
In his response, the Acting Provost, Dr. Umar A. Umar, expressed appreciation for the visit and assured the DSS of the college management’s commitment to involving security personnel in its programmes and activities. He further affirmed that the institution would continue to seek security advice whenever the need arises to ensure the safety of the college community.
