The handover ceremony, held today, formally transferred the facility to the Polytechnic’s management for academic use. The Nutrition and Dietetics Department is one of the institution’s flagship academic units, having produced thousands of nutritionists and dieticians who are contributing meaningfully to public and private sectors within and outside Nigeria.
Speaking during the brief ceremony, the Rector, Alhaji Sani Usman—represented by the Deputy Rector, Dr. Dalhatu Sa’idu Abubakar—expressed appreciation to the contractor for the quality of work delivered. He also charged the user department to take the maintenance and proper use of the facility seriously to ensure its long-term sustainability.
Earlier, the Chairman of the Project Monitoring Committee of the Governing Council, Surveyor Mohammed Shehu Kardam, commended the standard of finishing achieved on the project. He noted that the quality of work reflects effective supervision and reaffirmed the Governing Council’s continued commitment to supporting infrastructural development within the Polytechnic.
The successful handover of the Nutrition and Dietetics Department Complex reinforces the Polytechnic’s resolve to provide a conducive learning environment and strengthen practical-based training for students.
