Federal Polytechnic Damaturu Appoints Mohammed Umar Babi as New Head of Medical Services Unit

The Federal Polytechnic Damaturu has announced the appointment of Mohammed Umar Babi as the new Head of the Medical Services Unit, effective July 2, 2025. 

Babi, a Chief Nursing Officer at the Polytechnic, has been a dedicated member of the Polytechnic clinic since 1997. His extensive experience in healthcare is supported by his academic qualifications, including a Master’s degree in Public Health and Health Economics.

The appointment was officially approved by the Rector, Dr. Ibrahim Bello Bashir, in a letter signed by the Deputy Registrar (STD and Pension Matters), Haruna A. Abdullahi. The letter expresses confidence in Babi’s ability to lead the Medical Services Unit, emphasizing the expectation for him to leverage his wealth of experience to enhance the Polytechnic’s medical services.
