Federal Polytechnic of Oil and Gas Department Honours Rector for Leadership and Accreditation Success

The Department of Petroleum Marketing and Business Studies at the Federal Polytechnic of Oil and Gas (FPOG), Bonny, has honoured the Rector, Dr. Victor Okolobah, with an award in recognition of his leadership and contributions to the growth of the institution.

The recognition ceremony took place on Tuesday, 14 July 2026, following the successful accreditation of 22 additional academic programmes by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE).

The delegation was led by the Head of Department, Dr. Carr Ezekiel Hart, and included Dr. A.A. Azunwo, members of staff and students of the department.

During the visit, the department presented Dr. Okolobah with a Plaque of Meritorious Service in recognition of his diligence and pragmatic leadership, particularly for his support towards the successful accreditation exercise and the development of the department.

Responding, the Rector expressed appreciation for the honour but said he was simply carrying out the responsibilities of the office entrusted to him.

According to Dr. Okolobah, every responsibility assigned to him deserves full commitment, adding that he is grateful to God for the recognition and appreciation of his efforts.

The institution noted that the recent accreditation success reflects its ongoing transformation and commitment to strengthening academic quality, institutional development and technical education.
