Federal University Gusau Appoints Prof. Tukur Adamu as Fourth Vice-Chancellor

Professor Tukur Adamu, currently the Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Research, Innovation, and Development at Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto (UDUS), has been appointed as the fourth substantive Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University Gusau (FUGUS), Zamfara State.

The appointment was formally approved by the FUGUS Governing Council during its 32nd regular meeting held in Abuja from December 9 to 12, 2025, following a rigorous selection process. The news was confirmed via official publications from both FUGUS and the UDUS administration.

Professor Adamu is expected to succeed the outgoing Vice-Chancellor, Professor M.G. Abubakar, whose tenure ends in February 2026.
