Federal University of Education Pankshin VC Pays Solidarity Visit to UNIJOS Following Angwan Rukuba Attack

The Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Education, Pankshin (FUEP), Professor Noel Nen’man Ndalbeh Wannang, has paid a high-level solidarity visit to the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Jos (UNIJOS), Professor Tanko Ishaya, following the recent violent attack in the Angwan Rukuba area.

The attack tragically resulted in the loss of 28 lives and left numerous others injured, including two students and one staff member of the University of Jos.

Accompanied by Professor Ishaya, the FUEP Vice-Chancellor visited the Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH) to ascertain the medical condition of the affected staff and students. Professor Wannang expressed profound gratitude to God for their stable condition and commended the medical team for their swift intervention.

While encouraging his counterpart at UNIJOS, Professor Wannang urged the university community—both staff and students—to remain security-conscious. He advised them to be cautious during their daily activities and to report any suspicious movements to the relevant authorities immediately.

The visit underscores the unity and shared concern among tertiary institutions in Plateau State during times of regional insecurity.
