Anambra State CP Orutugu Commends Rector, Federal Polytechnic Oko, for Institutional Peace and Security
The Anambra State Commissioner of Police (CP), Ikioye Orutugu, has lauded the Rector of the Federal Polytechnic, Oko, Dr. Chioma Irene Awuzie, for her exceptional leadership in maintaining a secure and peaceful academic environment.
During a courtesy visit to the Rector’s office on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, the CP expressed his admiration for the institution’s rich history and its role in producing prominent national figures.

CP Orutugu attributed the current atmosphere of peaceful co-existence and rapid development to Dr. Awuzie’s unique position as an "internally generated Rector." He noted that her deep understanding of the polytechnic’s internal dynamics, combined with her discipline and focus, has been instrumental in effectively managing the institution’s affairs.
In her response, Dr. Chioma Awuzie expressed profound gratitude for the CP’s impact on the state's safety. "Before you came on board, we hardly slept with our eyes closed," she remarked, "but now we can sleep with our eyes closed. Kudos to you."
She reaffirmed the management's commitment to continued cooperation with the Nigerian Police Force to sustain the prevailing harmony on campus.

The visit, which coincided with a program organized by the National Association of Polytechnic Students (NAPS), was attended by the Polytechnic’s management team and the Student Union Government (SUG) executives.
