FUTMINNA Students’ Union Issues Critical Update on Student Loan Tuition Refunds
The Students’ Union Government (SUG) of the Federal University of Technology, Minna (FUTMINNA), has issued an official progress report regarding the ongoing processing of school fee refunds for beneficiaries of the federal student loan scheme.
In a press release dated March 30, 2026, the Union leadership assured the student body ("Futmites") that it is working tirelessly with university authorities to resolve delays and ensure a seamless refund process for all eligible students.
Progress and Challenges
The Union disclosed that while thousands of applications are currently being verified, several factors have contributed to the extended timeline:
Data Errors: A significant number of submissions contained incorrect account details, mismatched names, or improperly addressed letters.
Late Submissions: Delays in students providing their details hindered the initial verification phase.
Verification Rigor: The high volume of applications requires meticulous cross-referencing to ensure administrative accuracy.
Commitment to Timely Disbursement
The Union's President, Comr. Sen. Adaidu Ezekiel Machofo (Calculus), noted that a large batch of verified submissions has already been compiled. Students are encouraged to expect their refunds "at any moment," as the Union aims to conclude all disbursements before the upcoming holiday period.
"We urge all students to remain calm and patient," the statement read. "Creating panic or unnecessary pressure will not speed up the process. We are actively working to ensure the system works effectively for everyone."
The leadership further emphasized the importance of accuracy in future submissions to prevent further administrative bottlenecks.
