The University of Lagos (UNILAG) has secured the second position in Nigeria and 23rd in Africa in the July 2026 Second Edition of the Webometrics Ranking of World Universities.
Globally, UNILAG placed 1,291st, reflecting the university’s growing digital presence, research visibility and academic influence.
The Webometrics Ranking of World Universities is published twice a year by the Cybermetrics Lab of the Spanish National Research Council. The ranking evaluates universities based on factors including digital presence, research visibility, open scholarly repositories and overall academic impact.
The latest ranking further highlights UNILAG’s position among leading universities in Nigeria and Africa and its continued progress in strengthening its global digital and academic footprint.
