Federal University of Education, Zaria Commends NELFUND for N51.5 Million Student Loan Grant

The Federal University of Education, Zaria (FUEZ) has commended the Nigeria Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) for disbursing N51.5 million to 1,173 students for the 2024/2025 academic session. In a letter signed by Acting Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Suleiman Balarabe, the university confirmed receiving the funds on January 28, 2025, which were used for students' registration fees with full accountability.

The Federal University of Education, Zaria (FUEZ) has acknowledged and commended the Nigeria Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) for disbursing a total of N51,503,621 to 1,173 students of the institution as an education loan for the 2024/2025 academic session.

In an official letter signed by the Acting Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Suleiman Balarabe, the university confirmed that the funds were received on January 28, 2025, and were directed towards the payment of students' registration fees. The beneficiaries were duly issued receipts to ensure accountability, transparency, and proper documentation.

Dr. Balarabe expressed appreciation for NELFUND's commitment to supporting students' education, stating that the initiative has significantly benefited not only the students but also their parents, the university, and the wider community amid prevailing economic challenges.

He further emphasized that such financial assistance would help mitigate social unrest by reducing the number of idle youths prone to engaging in vices. The university extended prayers for divine guidance and foresight for NELFUND to sustain its laudable efforts in alleviating the financial burdens of students across the country.
