Federal University of Education, Zaria SRC President Strengthens Ties with Former NANS Leader

The Students’ Representative Council (SRC) of the Federal University of Education, Zaria, announced that its President, Rt. Comr. Yakubu Ibrahim Khalifa, paid a courtesy visit to former National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) Secretary‑General and respected community figure Comr. Usman Baba Kankia — popularly known as “Sardaunan Hayin Dogo” and “Chigarin Chawai” — on Saturday evening.

The visit, part of the SRC’s ongoing engagement with key stakeholders, focused on leadership development, student empowerment and exploring strategic pathways to build a stronger, more progressive student community. Following the meeting, Rt. Comr. Khalifa described the discussion as “highly insightful and inspiring,” noting that Comr. Kankia provided valuable mentorship, guidance and encouragement that reinforced the leaders’ responsibilities and the bright future ahead for FUE Zaria.

The SRC President indicated that the engagement marks the beginning of deeper collaborations aimed at driving reforms, expanding opportunities and advancing student welfare at the university. The SRC expressed gratitude to Comr. Usman Baba Kankia for his continued mentorship and support of Nigerian students, affirming confidence in a promising future for FUE Zaria.
