Federal University of Education, Zaria to Observe Public Holiday for Nigeria's 64th Independence Day

The Federal University of Education, Zaria (FUEZ), will observe the public holiday declared by the Federal Government in celebration of Nigeria's 64th Independence Day Anniversary. This was announced in a statement released on September 30, 2024, by the University Public Relations Officer, Rakiya Sidi.

The holiday, scheduled for Tuesday, October 1, 2024, was confirmed following a statement from the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, who urged Nigerians to remain patriotic during the commemoration of the country’s 64th anniversary.

As a result, the university will be closed for all official and academic activities on that day, with staff assigned to special duties expected to report for work. Regular staff, both teaching and non-teaching, are to resume work on Wednesday, October 2, 2024.
