Federal University of Education, Zaria VC Meets Staff Unions to Bolster Industrial Harmony

The Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Education, Zaria, Prof. Yahaya Isa Bunkure, alongside members of the University’s Management Team, on Friday held a strategic meeting with the leadership of staff unions.

The meeting, which took place at the Vice-Chancellor’s Office on April 10, 2026, was attended by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Suleiman Balarabe; the Acting Registrar, Malam Shehu Iya Sa’idu; and the Acting Bursar, Alhaji Muhammad Kabiru Aliyu.

Representing the staff unions were their respective chairmen: Dr. Ubale Alhaji of the Academic Staff Union; Malam Abdullahi Ibrahim of the Senior Staff Union; Engr. Abubakar Sadiq of the Non-Academic Staff Union; and Comrade Lawal Umar of the National Association of Academic Technologists (NAAT).

The engagement provided a platform for constructive dialogue on matters relating to staff welfare, institutional development, and the overall advancement of the University.

In his remarks, the Vice-Chancellor reaffirmed Management’s commitment to promoting mutual understanding, sustaining industrial harmony, and adopting an inclusive approach to governance and decision-making.
