Federal University of Transport Daura Wins Gold at 14th NUSSA Games

The Federal University of Transport (FUT), Daura, has emerged victorious at the 14th Nigeria Universities Staff Sports Association (NUSSA) Games, held at Bayero University, Kano.

Goalkeeper Ibrahim Danjuma Abbasco's exceptional performance in the penalty shootout secured the gold medal for FUT Daura.

In the thrilling football final against Federal University Dutsin-Ma, Katsina State, Abbasco saved three penalties, including two consecutive spot-kicks, to lead his team to victory. The match had ended 1-1 in regular time, necessitating the penalty shootout.

FUT Daura's Vice-Chancellor, Professor Umar Adamu, expressed immense pride in the university's staff athletes, lauding their resilience and teamwork throughout the tournament. He also commended Bayero University, Kano, for successfully hosting the multi-sport event.

The 14th NUSSA Games brought together over 1,100 staff athletes from 37 universities across Nigeria, promoting camaraderie, sportsmanship, and excellence in university sports .
