The Federal Government has announced the commencement of applications for admission into Federal Technical Colleges across Nigeria, reinforcing its commitment to free, skills-driven education under the Renewed Hope education agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR.

The announcement was made by the Federal Ministry of Education, which described the initiative as a strategic move to equip Nigerian youths with practical technical and vocational skills required for employment, entrepreneurship, and national development.

Speaking on the development, the Honourable Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa, expressed satisfaction with the rollout, noting that the programme aligns with the administration’s broader goal of empowering young Nigerians through accessible and industry-relevant education.

“I am proud to announce the opening of applications into Federal Technical Colleges across Nigeria — advancing free, skills-driven education for our youths,” the Minister said.

According to the ministry, registration for the National Common Entrance Examination (NCEE) into Federal Technical Colleges will open on Monday, January 26, 2026, and close on Sunday, May 24, 2026. The entrance examination is scheduled to hold nationwide on Saturday, June 6, 2026.

Prospective candidates between the ages of 13 and 20 are eligible to apply and are required to complete their registration through the official National Business and Technical Examinations Board (NABTEB) online portal.

The initiative is expected to strengthen Nigeria’s technical education framework and expand opportunities for youths to acquire hands-on skills critical to economic growth and workforce development.
