Fountain University has announced that one of its outstanding students, Muadh Adekunle Monsuru, a Computer Science undergraduate, has been shortlisted to participate in the prestigious NextGen Innovation Challenge Grand Finale in London.
Muadh’s innovation journey began at Fountain University during the institution’s 13th Convocation Ceremony, where he competed in the Innovation Challenge designed to encourage creativity and problem-solving among students.
Together with his teammates – Bello Fawaz Babatunde and Abiola Awwal Olamide – he developed PQ-AI, an artificial intelligence–powered educational platform designed to help students of all demographics and educational levels prepare more effectively for their studies. The project aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 4 (Quality Education), underlining its relevance to global educational challenges.
Emerging as winners at the University’s competition, the team went on to represent Fountain University at the Osun State Innovation Challenge organized by the Ministry of Science and Technology, where they once again came out victorious. This achievement paved the way for them to advance to the national level, where they showcased their project before leading policymakers and had the unique opportunity of presenting directly to the Minister of Science, Innovation and Technology.
Now, their innovation has secured a place on the global stage, with Muadh Adekunle Monsuru shortlisted from over 3,000 applicants worldwide to participate in the NextGen Innovation Challenge Grand Finale in London, organized by UKALD in collaboration with the National Board for Technology Incubation (NBTI).
Speaking on the achievement, the Vice Chancellor of Fountain University, Prof. Olayinka Ramota Karim, congratulated the students for their determination and ingenuity.
“Muadh and his teammates represent the best of Fountain University’s vision – to raise individuals who are not only academically sound but also equipped to solve real-world problems. Their journey from the campus stage to the global stage is a testament to the talent we continue to nurture at Fountain University,” she said.

She also commended the Centre for Research, Innovation and Technology under the leadership of Dr. Rasheed Adebiyi, whose guidance and support provided the foundation for the remarkable achievement.
The announcement was made in a statement signed by the Public Relations Officer of Fountain University, Taoheed Alimi.
