FUD Sets 25 Marks as Minimum for Concessional Pass

The Federal University Dutse (FUD) has approved 25 marks as the minimum score required for the award of a Concessional Pass, effective from the 2025/2026 academic session.

The decision was made during the 73rd (Extraordinary) Senate meeting held on 23rd December 2025, as communicated through a circular issued by the Directorate of Academic Affairs via the Office of the Registrar.

The University Senate emphasized that the new benchmark aims to ensure uniformity across all faculties and departments and to uphold academic standards. The Senate expressed concern that some students had been deliberately skipping lectures, Continuous Assessment (CA) tests, or examinations, expecting automatic Concessional Passes—a practice that violates Senate guidelines and undermines academic integrity.

Henceforth, only students who score 25 marks and above will be eligible for a Concessional Pass.

The circular was signed by Bappa U. Shamsuddeen for the Registrar and circulated to key university officials for strict implementation.
