FUEZ Management Reiterates Ban on Unauthorized Social Media Groups
The Management of the Federal University of Education, Zaria (FUEZ), has issued a stern warning against the unauthorized creation of Facebook and WhatsApp platforms using the institution’s name.
In a special bulletin released on May 5, 2026, the university management reiterated that the prohibition of such platforms remains strictly in force, referencing an earlier directive issued in September 2024.
Immediate Deletion of Unauthorized GroupsThe circular, signed by the Director of Information and Protocol, Rakiya Sidi, mandates that any existing WhatsApp or Facebook groups created in the name of the university, its departments, or units without explicit approval must be deleted immediately.
The management emphasized that this measure is necessary to maintain the integrity of official communication channels and prevent the spread of unverified information.
Strict Approval ProcessHenceforth, any individual or entity intending to create a social media platform related to the university must follow a formal protocol:Prior Approval: Permission must be sought and obtained through the Directorate of Information and Protocol.Disciplinary Action: The bulletin warned that any individual found in violation of this directive will face appropriate disciplinary action in accordance with the law.
