FUL-ICEEH and AAIRTA Host 3rd International Academy Conference on Indigenous Knowledge and Wellness

The Federal University Lokoja’s International Centre of Excellence in Environmental Humanities (FUL-ICEEH), in partnership with the Academy of Africana Indigenous Religions, Theology and Arts (AAIRTA) and PANAFSTRAG/AKODI ORISA, is set to host the 3rd International Academy Conference from 27th to 31st October 2025.

The Federal University Lokoja’s International Centre of Excellence in Environmental Humanities (FUL-ICEEH), in partnership with the Academy of Africana Indigenous Religions, Theology and Arts (AAIRTA) and PANAFSTRAG/AKODI ORISA, is set to host the 3rd International Academy Conference from 27th to 31st October 2025.

The conference, themed “Codex, Liturgy, Rituals, Health, Herbs, Medicine and Wellness, Spiritually, Holy Sites,” will take place at the Engr. Joseph and Enesi Makoju Memorial Lecture Theatre, Main Campus, Felele.

Keynote speakers include Professor Paul Ugor from the University of Waterloo, Canada, and Professor Moyo Okediji from the University of Texas at Austin, USA. The event will explore the intersection of indigenous knowledge, spiritual practices, and holistic wellness, fostering scholarly exchange on African cultural, religious, and medicinal traditions.
