FUL Matriculates 9,097 Students at 14th Matriculation Ceremony, VC Emphasises Decent Dressing
The Federal University Lokoja (FUL) has matriculated a total of 9,097 students for the 2025/2026 academic session, marking the highest admission figure in the institution’s history since its establishment in 2011.

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olayemi Akinwumi, disclosed this during the University’s 14th Matriculation Ceremony, where he formally admitted the new students into various academic programmes.
According to the Vice-Chancellor, the students were admitted after successfully meeting the requirements of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) examinations and the University’s screening exercise.
“For the 2025/2026 Academic Session, a total of 9,097 students are matriculating into the Federal University Lokoja, having successfully met the requirements of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board examinations and the University’s screening exercise. This figure reflects not only the competitive nature of our admission process but also our steadfast commitment to merit, quality, and excellence,” Professor Akinwumi stated.

He noted that the record-breaking admission underscores the growing reputation of the University and its appeal to prospective students across the country.
While addressing the matriculating students, the Vice-Chancellor charged them to uphold the values of the institution, particularly stressing the importance of decent dressing, discipline, and responsible conduct on campus. He reminded them that academic excellence must be complemented by good character and respect for university regulations.
Professor Akinwumi congratulated the new students on securing admission into the University and urged them to remain focused, law-abiding, and committed to their studies as they begin their academic journey at Federal University Lokoja.

The ceremony formally ushered the students into the University community, marking the beginning of their academic careers at FUL.
