FULafia Director, Centre for Energy Studies Prof. Kwon-Ndung Bags “Award of Excellence 2023''

Kwon-Ndung receives, yet, another recognition, FULafia Director, Centre for Energy Studies Prof. Kwon-Ndung Bags “Award of Excellence 2023'' by New Life Trends Magazine (NLTM), Alhaji Umar Abubakar.myschoolnews reports.

The Director, Centre for Energy Studies, Federal University of Lafia (FULafia), Prof. Emmanuel Kwon-Ndung, has received an award of excellence in recognition of his outstanding academic achievements.

The award, tagged: “Award of Excellence 2023,” was presented to Kwon-Ndung by the Chairman, New Life Trends Magazine (NLTM), Alhaji Umar Abubakar.

Abubakar disclosed that his magazine resolved to award Prof. Kwon-Ndung after a rigorous scrutiny of his works, adding that the New Life Trends Magazine has found the professor worthy of recognition because of his contributions and promotion of plant science education in the country. 

Abubakar declared that Prof. Kwon-Ndung's contribution to youth and societal transformation were other areas that endeared him to the board of the magazine. 

"We try to showcase people that have impacted the world positively in our magazine so that the younger generation may learn one or two things from such personalities," he added.

Professor Emmanuel Kwon-Ndung specialises in the area of plant breeding and genetics in the Department of Plant Science and Biotechnology of FULafia.

Prof. Kwon-Ndung appreciated the magazine for honouring him. 

He said that in plant science education "our major aim is to see how we can mould younger ones so that there can be food availability, food revolution and access to food."

He reiterated the need for more people to embrace plant science, saying: "This is very important for our overgrowing population and the fact that the space to plant is decreasing. We would appreciate that more people will go into this area of study.”

Kwon-Ndung is Director of Centre for Energy Studies of the University.
