FULafia Imam Condemns Criminality and Moral Decadence

The Deputy Chief Imam of Federal University of Lafia (FULafia), Dr Idris Muhammad, has cautioned against indiscriminate killings and rising cases of moral decadence in society, stressing that Islam strongly condemns unlawful taking of lives.

Speaking while delivering the Eid el-Kabir sermon at the Voice of Islam Eid Ground, hosted at the Lafia City Stadium, Muhammad said Islam emphasises peace and mutual respect among individuals and communities.

Drawing lessons from the farewell pilgrimage of Prophet Muhammad (SAW), he urged Muslims to refrain from insulting one another, especially on social media.

He encouraged people to pray for their leaders with a view to fostering peace and social progress.

The cleric warned against engaging in immoral behaviours, saying immorality causes hardship and instability in society.
