FULafia Partners Newbury Midstream to Establish LPG Plant on Campus

The Federal University of Lafia, FULafia, has signed a partnership agreement with Newbury Midstream Company to establish a Liquefied Petroleum Gas, LPG, plant on its campus, aimed at promoting clean energy, advancing research, and strengthening industry-academia collaboration.
The agreement was signed during a meeting between the University Management and a delegation from Newbury Midstream at the University's Old Senate Chamber.
The leader of the company's delegation, Mr. Yusuf Kawa, said the proposed LPG plant would provide a reliable and sustainable source of clean energy while creating opportunities for practical training, research, and innovation for staff and students.
He reaffirmed the company's commitment to a mutually beneficial partnership.
Representing the Vice-Chancellor of FULafia, Prof. Muhammed Isa Kida, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Research and Partnerships, Prof. Ibrahim Ogiri Hassan, commended Newbury Midstream for choosing FULafia.
He said the initiative aligned with the University's commitment to promoting strategic partnerships that advance research, innovation, and national development.
Earlier, the Manager of FULafia Consult, Mr. Anwar Liman, said the agreement resulted from extensive consultations and reflected the University's drive to attract investments that support teaching, research, and community development.
