FUNAAB Alumni Association Pays Condolence Visit to Former VC, Prof. Balogun, Over Wife’s Passing

A delegation of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta Alumni Association (FUNAABAA), led by its Global President, Otunba Bolaji Gbadamosi, on June 15, 2026, paid a condolence visit to the Fourth Substantive Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. Oluwafemi Olaiya Balogun, following the passing of his wife, Prof. (Pastor) Elizabeth Abidemi Balogun.

The Alumni Association expressed profound sorrow over the loss, describing the late Prof. (Pastor) Balogun as a devoted spouse, accomplished scholar, and impactful personality whose life of service and contributions left enduring legacies within and beyond the University community.

Speaking during the visit, Otunba Gbadamosi conveyed the Association’s heartfelt sympathies to Prof. Balogun and his family. He noted that the loss was not only a personal tragedy for the family but also a significant loss to all who had the privilege of knowing and working with the deceased.

As a mark of solidarity and support, the Global President presented a formal condolence letter on behalf of the Alumni Association, reaffirming the commitment of the alumni body to stand with the former Vice-Chancellor and his family during this difficult period.

Members of the delegation included the Global Secretary, Ambassador Femi Ajayi; Director I, Alumni Ventures, Rotarian Abiodun Ajayi; and Director II, Alumni Ventures, Dr. Oludare Adekoyeni.

The visit concluded with prayers for the peaceful repose of the soul of the departed and for divine comfort, strength, and fortitude for Prof. Balogun and the entire family as they navigate this season of grief.
