The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) has officially released its academic calendar for the 2024/2025 academic session following the approval of the Senate at its special meeting held on Tuesday, September 24, 2024. The newly approved calendar, which was communicated through a decision extract signed by the Ag. Registrar and Secretary to Senate, Mrs. Oluwatoyin Dawodu, outlines key academic activities and milestones for both fresh and returning students.

According to the calendar, registration, medical screening, ICT training, and orientation for fresh students will commence on Monday, September 30, 2024, while registration for returning students begins on Monday, October 7, 2024. Lectures for all students, both fresh and returning, are set to begin on Monday, October 14, 2024.

The university has also scheduled several inaugural lectures, with the 94th taking place on Wednesday, October 30, 2024. Matriculation for new students is slated for Wednesday, November 20, 2024, while late registration will begin with a penalty on Saturday, November 16, 2024.

The first semester will conclude with lectures ending on Friday, January 3, 2025, and examinations starting on Monday, January 13, 2025. After a brief intermission for marking and compilation of results, the second semester is set to commence on Monday, February 17, 2025.

The second semester will also be marked by several inaugural lectures, with the 98th to the 103rd lectures scheduled between February and May 2025. The session is expected to end with the second semester examinations concluding on Friday, June 6, 2025, followed by a special Senate meeting to consider results on Thursday, July 17, 2025.

The calendar outlines 12 weeks of lectures, one week for examination preparation, and five weeks for marking and result compilation in both semesters. This structure ensures an organized and smooth academic year for the university community.

This timely release provides students and staff with clarity and structure, helping them to plan their academic activities and personal engagements effectively for the 2024/2025 session.
