FUNAAB Senate Elects Four Representatives to Governing Council

The Senate of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, FUNAAB, has elected four distinguished academics as its representatives on the University’s Governing Council.

The election was conducted at the Special Meeting of Senate held on September 8, 2026. The representatives are expected to serve a four-year tenure effective September 23, 2026.

The elected representatives are Prof. Emily Ayo-John, Prof. Oluseyi Akinloye, Prof. Oladele Talabi and Prof. Adebayo Oni.

Prof. Ayo-John is a Professor of Plant Virology in the Department of Crop Protection, College of Plant Science and Crop Production, COLPLANT. She is the immediate past Director of the Centre for Entrepreneurial Studies, CENTS, and the current President of the National Association of University Women, NAUW, FUNAAB Chapter.

Prof. Akinloye is a specialist in Biochemistry and Phytomedicine in the Department of Biochemistry, College of Biosciences, COLBIOS. He is a former Dean of the College.

Prof. Talabi is an authority in Veterinary Medicine from the College of Veterinary Medicine and a former Director of the Institute of Human Resources Development, INHURD.

Prof. Oni is an expert in Ruminant Animal Nutrition in the Department of Animal Nutrition, College of Animal Science and Livestock Production, COLANIM. He is a former Chairman of the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU-UNAAB Chapter.
