The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Babatunde Kehinde, has commended the Timetable and Examination Committee (TIMTEC) of the University for its dedication and efficiency in ensuring a smooth start to the 2025/2026 Academic Session.

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Babatunde Kehinde, has commended the Timetable and Examination Committee (TIMTEC) of the University for its dedication and efficiency in ensuring a smooth start to the 2025/2026 Academic Session.

Speaking through the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Prof. Olukayode Akinyemi, during TIMTEC’s meeting held on September 9, 2025, at the Conference Room of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Development), the Vice-Chancellor praised the Committee for laying the groundwork for a seamless commencement of lectures.

He noted that the proactive measures taken by the Committee before the resumption of students had enabled lectures to commence without hitches. “By the grace of God, the 2025/2026 session has begun, and lectures are underway. I commend TIMTEC for their tireless efforts even before students resumed. The seamless start of lectures reflects your commitment,” he said.

Prof. Kehinde emphasized the pivotal role of TIMTEC as a statutory Senate Committee, describing its work as the backbone of the University’s academic operations. “This Committee is vital to our academic framework. We deeply value your role and thank you for your cooperation with the Chairman. It is indeed a challenging task, especially considering the scale of this session,” he added.

Highlighting the challenges of the new academic year, the Vice-Chancellor revealed that the institution was expecting over 7,000 students, including about 1,000 fresh entrants from the newly established Federal University of Medicine and Medical Sciences, Abeokuta (FUMMSA) programme at the 100-Level. He acknowledged that accommodating such a large population would pose logistical and administrative challenges, underscoring the critical importance of TIMTEC’s work.
