FUTA’s Prof. Olubanjo Elected Deputy State Coordinator of FRSC Special Marshals
Professor Obafemi Olutola Olubanjo of the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA) has been elected Deputy State Coordinator for RS 11.2 Ondo State Sector Command of the Special Marshals, Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC).
Professor Obafemi Olutola Olubanjo of the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA) has been elected Deputy State Coordinator for RS 11.2 Ondo State Sector Command of the Special Marshals, Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC).
His induction into the new role followed the election held on July 17, 2025. In the position, he will act in the absence of the State Coordinator and perform duties assigned by the leadership of the command.

Prof. Olubanjo joined the Special Marshals in 2015 and was attached to Unit 32, FUTA, where he later became Unit Coordinator in 2020. His leadership saw him participate in key state and zonal activities, including serving on the appraisal and re-evaluation planning committee, delivering a guest lecture at the 2024 RS 11 Zonal Conference covering Osun, Ondo, and Oyo States, and contributing to the building of the Special Marshal Hall in Ondo State.

During his tenure as Unit Coordinator, Prof. Olubanjo strengthened ties between FUTA and the Special Marshals under Corps Commander I. Ibitoye, Ph.D., leading to driver training programs on safety, road sign awareness, and compliance with traffic regulations. He held the role until his election as Deputy State Coordinator, marking another milestone in his decade-long service to road safety advocacy.
