FUTIA Welcomes Nigerian Christian Graduate Fellowship on Courtesy Visit

The Federal University of Technology, Ikot Abasi (FUTIA), Akwa Ibom State, received a delegation from the Nigerian Christian Graduate Fellowship (NCGF) at the Senate Chamber, Takeoff Campus, on Friday, 6 February 2026.

The delegation was led by the National President, Professor Ashong Ashong. The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Leo Daniel, alongside other members of Management, hosted the visitors.

During the visit, Professor Ashong commended the Vice-Chancellor and the Pioneer Management Team for the smooth takeoff of the University. He also pledged to partner with FUTIA in areas including the promotion of patriotic and active citizenship, aligning with the Fellowship’s mandate.

In response, Professor Leo Daniel expressed appreciation for the visit and reaffirmed the University’s commitment to corporate partnerships that foster mutual growth and community engagement.

A vote of thanks was delivered by the Registrar, Mrs. Offiongita Nkang, who reiterated the University’s readiness to explore avenues for collaboration with NCGF.

Management officials present included Dr. Mbobo Erasmus (Bursar, represented by Mrs. Esther Obodechi), Prof. Philip Akor (University Librarian, represented by Dr. Columbus Udofot), Prof. Isaac Ayandele (Director of Academic Planning), and Dr. Paul Paulinus (Acting Director of Physical Planning).

Leaders of the Fellowship in attendance included Elder John Udo (Chairman, Board of Trustees), Dr. Nsimeneabasi Udoh (Immediate Past Treasurer, NCGF Uyo Chapter), Mr. Etimbuk Ekpenyong (National Publicity Secretary), and Mr. Ubong Udom (South-South Zonal Secretary).
