FUTMINNA DRID Moves to Strengthen 2025 NRF Grant Implementation

The Directorate for Research, Innovation and Development, DRID, Federal University of Technology, Minna, has moved to strengthen the implementation of the 2025 National Research Fund, NRF, grants through an engagement with Principal Investigators, PIs.

The meeting, held on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, at the Academic Publishing Centre, Main Campus, brought together Principal Investigators of the 2025 NRF grant cycle and members of their research teams.

The Director of DRID, Prof. Chiemela Enyinnaya Chinma, said the engagement provided an opportunity for DRID to review key expectations, timelines, and other requirements for the successful implementation of the 2025 TETFund NRF Grant.

He added that the meeting also served as a platform for researchers to discuss issues relating to their projects and seek clarification on matters concerning the execution of the research grants. DRID also proposed a date for the internal monitoring and verification exercise and for the submission of progress reports required for the application for second tranche payment for the 2025 NRF grant cycle.

Each Principal Investigator attended the meeting with one member of his or her research team.
